Springfield OH's Gammon House: A Stop on the Underground Railroad
Come with us as we pay a visit the Gammon House, today a small museum dedicated to the Underground Railroad
It's amazing that we've been coming to Springfield for so many years, but continue to find new things to experience. Recently, we visited the Gammon House, a small house on the south side of town, which served discreetly as a station on the Underground Railroad. During our entertaining tour, we learned that Springfield played an important role in the liberation of many former slaves, and heard the story of the Gammons: a free Black couple, whose son fought and died for the Union in the Civil War.
